Beginner’s Guide:How To Grow Weed Using Hydroponics

图片
What Is Hydroponic Cannabis? The common nickname for cannabis—“weed” —comes from its ability to grow almost anywhere, under varying conditions and different climates. “Hydroponic cannabis” simply refers to plants grown using a nutrient-water solution and an inert growing medium rather than nutrient-rich soil. This method could be something as basic as hand-watering pots of inert medium with a nutrient solution. As discussed in the first part of this series, sophisticated systems with multiple pumps, timers, and reservoirs can take some of the daily labor out of growing, but they require more maintenance and setup time as well as a greater initial investment. Cannabis growers have been using different hydroponic methods for many years as a way to maximize yields and speed up growth, the two main advantages of soilless growing. Working with soils indoors can be inefficient and difficult for a number of reasons: You may not be able to recycle soil Susceptibility to pest problems ...

WHAT ARE THE BEST T5 GROW LIGHTS FOR INDOOR GROWING?

图片
If you are a cannabis grower looking for lights to power your indoor grow op,  T5 fluorescent grow lights  may be a great choice for you. All kinds of plants can be grown under T5 lighting, including marijuana, without the high expense of metal halide or HPS systems. HPS lights use a ton of energy, waste a lot of energy on heat, and the bulbs have to be replaced every year. T5 fluorescent lights are great for early vegetative growth as well as starting seedlings or clones. They are also energy efficient, and can end up saving you a lot of money in decreased electricity bills over the long run. WHAT ARE T5 GROW LIGHTS ? They’re a special type of fluorescent  T5 grow light  that has become the industry-standard for growing seedlings and greens indoors. The bulbs are 5/8″ in diameter and are some of the most efficient fluorescent bulbs you’ll find on the market. In the past, T8 and T12 bulbs were used, but these have fallen out of favor due to the ...

What Is A Ceramic Metal Halide Grow Light? First, let’s clear up a point of confusion. I’m sure you’ve seen (even just in this article), several different terms and abbreviations. Ceramic Metal Halide  (CMH) grow lights , Light Emitting Ceramic (LEC) and Ceramic Discharge Metal Halide (CDM) all refer to the same thing. CMH is the most common term. Another point of confusion concerns their relationship to metal halide lights.  CMH bulbs  are a variation of MH bulbs, but they are quite different. Instead of using a quartz tube, they use a ceramic tube (more here), similar to an HPS bulb. This allows a higher arc tube temperature, which in turn allows a better mix of gases to produce a more optimal spectrum (more on this below in the sections comparing CMH to MH and HPS). The light produced by a CMH bulb is much closer to natural sunlight than either MH or HPS (with a CRI of 96). It is, for practical purposes, a perfect combination of MH and HPS in a single bulb. Ad...
